National Association of Gypsy Traveller Officers

The National Association of Gypsy Travellers Officers was founded in 1997, to allow local government officers who are members working with Romani and Traveller communities over accommodation and other issues, to share information, compare best practice and improve standards of service. NAGTO supports the development of excellent practice by local authorities, police and other organisations, on this issue. It also responds to government and other consultations regarding proposed changes in legislation and policy, that will have an impact upon Romani and Traveller communities. NAGTO has a members-only Training Day each year, usually in November and organises conferences, from time to time, which are open to all.
