NEW ONLINE EXHIBITION – ‘TALES FROM THE TRAILER’

‘TALES FROM THE TRAILER’, is an exciting innovative online exhibition that showcases 20 distinct stories from the cultures of 2 very different Gypsy and Traveller (GT) communities across the sites in Cardiff.

The exhibition provides a unique new digital platform for the creation of a touring multi-media exhibition to preserve and promote this culture both to the Gypsy and Traveller communities throughout Wales and also to the “settled” community nationally. The project from start to finish has been steered and led by the GT community to ensure a true representation of the Cardiff GT community, it’s values, beliefs and realities. The website will make accessible the spoken history records, images and documents showing the life journey and history of the GT community.

Julie Morgan AM said “I am very pleased that Tales from the Trailer is being presented by the Romani Cultural and Arts Company. It is very important that the stories and culture of Gypsies and Travellers are preserved. It is right that they are kept for their own importance, but also to let everyone know about this rich tradition – unfortunately so many people don’t know about this. This is an exciting and much-needed project and I’m proud to support it.”
