Project Officer 

Roma of Newport Heritage Project

Fixed-term, 2 days per week, 2 year contract

Gross salary – £12,862.72p 

The Romani Cultural and Arts Company is looking to hire either: 

  • 1 x part time Project Worker to work 2 days per week OR
  • 2 part-time Project Workers to work 1 day per week each

Successful candidates will have experience of working with the Roma community and have the engagement skills to be able to reach out and get them involved in the project. Ideally, candidates will have some skill in the language(s) spoken and understood by the Roma of Newport.

The project is designed to capture the personal history and stories of a range of Roma community members living in Newport, South Wales. We wish to capture these stories so that we can archive for now, and for the future, the rich culture, heritage and traditions that are part of this vibrant and dynamic community. In doing so, we will be helping support the anti-racist Wales 2030 agenda and community cohesion.

The successful applicant will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service certification.
