Operation Traveller Vote

Traveller Movement rocking the #TravellerVote across the country

From Wales to Essex and Sussex to Chorley the Traveller Movement’s Operation Traveller Vote (OTV) project has been talking to Gypsies, Travellers and Roma up and down the country about political participation and what it means to vote. To date OTV has done outreach to over thirty locations across England and Wales helping people to register to vote whilst increasing politics awareness and explaining the important role Government plays in people’s every-day lives.

OTV has also been supporting local community champions to get local people registered to vote and more politically engaged. The project has engaged both the young and the old and has been using social media to spread the word. On Twitter our #TravellerVote campaign has seen wide circulation of pictures of Gypsies, Travellers, Roma and their supporters standing proud in support of increased political engagement.

For more information on the project visit the OTV webpage at http://www.travellermovement.org.uk/what-we-do/projects/operation-traveller-vote/

To coincide with the 2015 election campaigns the Traveller Movement have also launched our OTV We are Community We are Societypage. We want to ensure that Gypsies, Travellers and Roma hold their politicians to account and that their politicians are listening, respecting and representing them.
