‘Rebuilding a community post-covid’ Project with Gypsies, Roma and Travellers of South East Wales

Gross Annual Salary for 2.5 days per week – £15,358.92

The Romani Cultural and Arts Company is excited and proud to announce that a 3 year funding grant has been received to lead on a ground-breaking community-based project to encourage Gypsies, Travellers and Roma to pull people together and encourage improved community cohesion post-covid.

We are very grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for this significant investment in our community.

We now seek two Project Officers to implement this project to an exceptionally high standard. Ideally with experience of working directly with Gypsies, Roma and Travellers on community projects, the successful applicants will be able to build strong trusting relationships with community members and inspire them to participate in this ground-breaking project.

Our project will see 3 years worth of community workshops to build back from covid, to improve socialisation, to strengthen the community and improve connections with supporting agencies and mainstream society; whilst up-skilling the community in areas of their interest.

Isaac Blake says: “This is a great moment for Gypsies. Roma and Travellers of South East Wales. To have funding for 3 years is significant and means that we can mobilise our communities to make genuine, deep changes. We are so so grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for this grant.”

If you are interested in applying for this exciting opportunity, please complete the application form and submit it to isaacblake@romaniarts.co.uk by no later than 9am on 30th January 2023. Late applications will not be considered.

The Romani Cultural and Arts Company is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to show this commitment also. Successful applicants will have to be screened via an enhanced DBS check as the project includes work with children and young people.
