In June 2009 the Romani Cultural and Arts Company worked with BVSNW to bring the first celebration of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month to Wales, but this year will be bigger and better with planning groups established in both Cardiff and Newport.
The National Launch of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month will take place at the Senedd on Thursday 27th May hosted by Helen Mary Jones AM, Chair of the Assembly’s Children & Young People’s Committee.
The National Launch will include the announcement of the winners and runners up of two annual poster competitions held among the schools of Cardiff and Newport. The art work of the two winners will be used to promote the events. First, second and third prize winners from both cities will be displayed at the Senedd and all of the young people’s work will be displayed at:
– The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre, Newport from 1st – 31st June
– County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff from 22nd June – 2nd July
– Cardiff Central Library from 21st – 28th June
